Glass Cacti - Sharing the love

Sharing some love, how amazing are these glass blown cacti by Amanda Dziedzic, she is a super lass (we found our shared fondness for hard to kill plants at the Melbourne Finders Keepers Markets) and super talented too. She has recently been featured in inside out mag and launched an Esty site....I look forward to seeing more!

Magnolia Square - Friends

Well, I am 2 days into the Magnolia Square markets and I thought rather than share with you how our Odds&ends are going (which I will do...but I will give you the full run down after tomorrows last day) I would quickly mention some of the other lovely stall holders and their inspiring work.

The brainy and friendly folk behind these labels have been great fun to chat with, drool over there lovely products and to share the odd crafty tale.

Bride & Wolf - Amazing bent wood shadow boxes! ...thank you Miranda for the lift home :) you are a star!

Chicken Foot Designs - Fabulous Linen Tea Towels and beautiful stationary. Designed by Helena Harry, a delight to have shared the stall across the way at Mag Square.

Mattt - With 2 of my cactus now happily joining his abode, I have a shared admiration for his range of bags and textiles. Practical and beautiful, my favorite would have to be the digital prints of Cuisenaire (wooden counting blocks) an absolute visual treat of colour!

Mattts lovely studio and store, which my cactus will hopefully soon be a part of.

Inspiration and colour.

I've been a busy lass getting ready for Magnolia Square this week, so I've not posted for a little while. I've been enjoying flicking through my 'heart that' images folder, as a source of inspiration. So sorry, but the sources are long lost. If I do happen to find them again, I will creadit it accordingly. Enjoy!

The Design Files - Feat. Odds&ends

Lucy Feagins is honestly a treasure, she is the talented editor of The Design Files, I have been following her site for a long time (even linked it a few times in this blogs history), her blog is chock to the brim with inspirational reviews, interviews and interiors a daily must read!

I met Lucy this past weekend at the Finders Keepers Markets. I was so happy to see that she featured our knitted cactus in her market wrap up on the Design Files.

Melissa and I greeting some happy customers and some happy cactus below.
Like me, she was taken by the beautiful ceramic work of Golden Ink.Lucy's photos are so much more beautiful than mine, so I must share them with you.

Finder's Wrap up

Wow wee, what a whirl wind weekend (Gosh that was a lot of W's wasn't it!). I managed to survive the Finders Keepers Market this weekend that was held in Melbourne for the first time. It really was such a lovely event, I met some wonderful fellow makers and many new lovely customers and some old (thanks for coming to visit me again).

If you managed to come down to the event, I am sure you too were blown away by the array of exciting crafters. There was so much good stuff I had to refrain from spending all my takings, although I did treat myself to a few new pieces.
Harvest Textiles, My newest tea towel!
Stunning Ceramic Pieces by Goldenink.

Made By Mosey, Hankey Blankey XXX love, love love it.
Victoria Mason, Delightful Silver Jewellery. And she went home with a cactus....I was very chuffed!

With some much appreciated help from my besties (Mel and Kel you are awesome xx) Odds&ends had a great time, and I am really excited to say you will soon be able to find our collections in a few leading Sydeny and Melbourne stores.

Now to start working on the next event....Magnolia Square here we come :)

In the mad rush preparing for the event I forgot my good camera, so please excuse the less than professional pictures take with my mobile.

Finders Keepers Profiles

I've already given you the heads up about the Finders Keepers Markets which are set to hit Melbourne early next Month....but I can't contain my excitement. I do hope you can make it down to the Docklands where there will be oodles of crafty goodness, live music, awesome food and not to mention some Melbourne sunshine (well hopefully).

Finders Keepers has just released the designer profiles for the Melbourne event.
Our little Odds&Ends have made a mention....have  a look-see here.

Monday 13 September 2010

I've been in hibernation - so very little time to blog at the moment. I'm working feverishness towards the Finders Keepers Market only a few weeks away. Trying to get a sea of new products ready! I would share some photos of the work in progress, but the state of my studio is quite scary! Organised Chaos I call it.
In the mean time....here are some more images from my inspirations folder. Sorry, the source is long lost from my memory.
