OBUS + Odds&endS = Destino Mexico

I managed to get this so no pretty photo of the Fitzroy OBUS store as I whisked past last week. This summer their collection is a fabulous assortment of clothes and accessories inspired by the fun and colour of a Mexican Fiesta! I was invited to created an installation of knitted cacti for their 3 Melbourne Obus stores.

I am pretty chuffed with the result. I think most of my earnings are likely to go towards some of their gorgeous clothes. Here are a few of my favorites outfits.

Lolita love

I fell off the blog roll for a while, whilst cacti fever took over in the lead up to Christmas. How I love Lolita's blog, such sweet beautiful imagery, speechless every time I visit it.

The Premises - Kensington

One of the awesome rolls on offer! Breakfast in a bun!
Alex makes a mean coffee having worked for some of Melbourne's best coffee institutions, Seven Seeds, Saint Ali amongst others.

I don't usually mention foodie things on here, but today we visited a friends cafe in Kensington, The Premises. Alex and his partner Kate have brought together the best of Melbourne's coffee and food. I was so happy to see my old woodworking teacher (Alex's father) had been used to his best advantage creating most of the shops fit out with beautiful recycled timbers and salvaged building materials. Even better it's kiddie friendly with its communal seating and enough open space to not feel like you are sharing your dining partners breakfast! Awesome with a capital 'A'!

Koskela, Follow your heart....

I know you will love Koskela...whilst they wait to transform their new showroom from fabulous to amazing...I am so impressed by the teaser that is their Pop Up shop in Potts Point NSW. As you can see it by no means looks temporary, it's really something beautiful, I can only imagine what their new store will look like. Odds&endS knitted cacti are now available, and will be joining them in their new retail space set to open in January2012....details TBA. A X

Popping out for some shopping - Modern Times

Modern Times are about to launch their 2nd POP UP SHOP event here in Melbourne, with lots of lovely vintage pieces sourced from Denmark there will be a beautiful collection of furniture, rugs and decorative pieces which I am sure will sell out fast. With some local love, there will be great gifts also available...including my knitted cacti. I am very excited to be sitting along side such a talented group of makers. I hope you get to pop by and enjoy the classic modern design aesthetic which has been so conveniently put together in the one space. Thankyou Modern times !
