Vintage Cards

My sister Renee makes the most amusing greeting cards, with her clever eye she collages imagery from vintage magazines and combines them with fitting wordings. Here is just a teaser...oh, and each card is a one off, she doesn't replicate them by making copies, so your giving a piece of art as well as a card

Weekend holiday's

We had a wonderful time away this weekend in Portarlington. Ah the serenity! We left feeling so very relaxed and super excited with our farmers market purchases and gorgeous softies that we found at the Drysdale Community Craft store.

Black and White is Alright!

If I could remodel our house, I would consider a black and white canvas, just as Suki of Varpunen has done here in her Helsinki apartment. Of cause, I would have to leak in a little bit of orange and brown....maybe some red and yellow too :) just a little!

Vivian Maier - A Mystery

There is so much appeal in the Mystery that is Vivian Maier, an unknown French born New York photographer her life work was purchased from an antique auction by John Maloof. For 40 years (1950-90's) Vivian documented the city, and it's people.  Her journalistic style of imagery is fascinating, almost as intriguing as the mysterious woman her self. There is little know about Vivian, however in the some 600 undeveloped rolls of film left in the collection, Hopefully John Maloof will be able to share a lot more with us.

Triian - blinging!

Oh boy, how cool are these pieces by Triian. I love that they look like bejeweled wooden treasures! But they are in face resin cast, and hand painted.

Eley Kishimoto

I fell in love with Eley Kishimoto in one of those rare fashion moments, finding a silk printed Kishimoto top for $1 at a thrift store! Her use of color and print is enchanting, just like her AW '10/11 collection.

Winter Woollies

Brrrrr, it's getting cold here, time to dig out the winter woollies! I have been making some beanies, so Charley doesn't get cold. They are super soft, Mohair, Cashmere and Angora, recycled from jumpers. I hope to list them on Etsy soon!

Cat Rabbit

I came by Cat Rabbit at the recent craft hatch markets, her work is a lot cute and a little sinister (check our the zombie softies). Her range is very sweet with nice wooden jewellery, knitted mittens and her signature Cat Rabbit softies. Hobart grown, she's here in Melbourne for a few months....I look forward to seeing more!
