Vintage Childrens Chairs

Chairs are one of those objects, like vases, black dresses and cocktail rings you can never have enough of them! On a recent garage sale walk I purchased the cutest 1960's rattan rocking chair for Charley's room. It is in need of a little TLC, but I will have it looking wonderful in no time. I have come across a lovely site Molly Meg, who has the most adorable children's vintage furniture including these great chairs, one can dream.

Jan Family - Plans for Other Days

I came across this book whilst at uni back in 2007, I would dearly love to buy it. The imagery is just,....how can I say 'lovely'. Jan Family is a group of English artists who beautifully document new ways to engage with our surroundings. Plans for Other Days is not only a humorous way of looking at the world im which we live, but a testament to my manta that inspiration can come from the smallest of events, if you remember to notice. Enjoy.

Then & Now - Dress

A very cute 1960's dress pattern, I have made this style up in 3 options so far, the bambi fabric design pictured is my #1 choice. As with all my creations the materials used are vintage or recycled, here I have refashioned a Princess Tina (by Beci Orpin)  print t-shirt into the bodice. Check out this item and other in my Etsy store.....more goodies being added shortly.

Sail away

For some time, Sailor style has inspired me. From the origins of knitting to the music of Sea Sick Steve and  recently the Mighy Boosh's awesome Future Sailors (hehe). I stumbled upon this amazing turn of the century knotted anchor for sale at Three Potato Four, divine!  I am working on an anchor cushion which I will share with you soon.

Dinosaur Designs

After posting about Dinosaur Designs being among my favorite jewelery designers, I went to see their recent collection. How I love their use of color, so inspiring.

A few of my favourite things

1. Peacock Pig: Hand made in Guatemala, Oxfam.
2. Jewelery: Lots and lots of it, Dinosaur Designs among the favorites.
3. Butterfly Diorama: Dunk Island Butterfly (Papilio Ulysses) Made in Australia (market find!)
4. Vintage Ceramics: Wall tile, Circa 1960 artist unknown (op shop gem), reminds me of Ackerman.
5. Ollie: The sweet and savage Maine Koon.
